Hokusai is a multitrack audio editor for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Record or import a track, and make it sound the way you want it to: not just trimming the ends, but full cut, copy, paste and delete, and a suite of filters and special effects available.

Edit many tracks side-by-side, mix them together, and export to Wave or MP4 format — then transfer them to your computer, send them to another app on your device, or upload to cloud services.
Hokusai is streamlined to give you a clean, clear view of your tracks. Use the familiar pinch and swipe gestures to zoom right in and fiddle with fine detail, or step back to see the big picture. Select pieces of audio. Live "scrubbing" means you can hear the sound under your fingertip as you make your adjustments. And you neednt fear a bad edit with our full undo/redo support — even after closing your project.
Hokusai comes free with a set of useful tools such as fade in/out, normalise volume levels, reverse time, and basic synthesis. If you need more power, you can upgrade from inside the app to add new tools and effects, including: Per-track volume/mute/panning, selecting across multiple tracks at once, presets and favourites, grain synthesis, noise gating, time-stretching, pitch-bending, echo, reverb, modulation (AM & FM), resonance, distortion, grunge, vocal levelling, monster voice, high/low/band-pass/notch-cut filter and more — many of which can be previewed live.

Very useful! I was trying to find a similar to audacity. And this one works very well
Really good for audio editing, mixing, track fusion and special effects. I miss a search by name feature, because Ive got over 100 files; so finding one specific track is laborious and time consuming.

Really an awesome recording tool. No feature to many, no tool to few. Works great with my Alesis IO Dock
Only improvement could be MP3 export.
the app is great and worth the money (bought the complete pack v1 ages ago and upgraded to complete pack v2 as well).
If there is a problem you get a very quick response of the developer. Thumbs up!!
Some bad moments
Lately my records arent working out.
I record 3:00 and just appear 1;00.
This is upsetting me. ):
I wanted to use it for cutting radio recordings (around 1 hour each, AAC format) that come through iTunes on the Mac to my iPhone, then imported into Hokusai from the iPhone music library. The import apparently finishes but it doesnt play or even show the audio wave visualization. Works for short files though… but the usability could be improved.
Already paid for the pro version, and now there are new adverts and a new "pro" version. Pasting audio doesnt work. Really annoying as this used to be a half decent audio editor.
Not a good audio editor. Cannot move tracks to line up with the end of another clip.
When trying to playback it starts from beginning of project instead of where I try to scrub to.
When previewing the free version it promises more options. It does not delivers that much certainly not $10 worth. Had I known I wouldnt have spent the money on it.

Unfortunately, it did not convinved me, as advertised. Even as a free app, it is useless.
I just spent an hour an a half on this thing and it crashes and loses all my data even after I pressed " recover data ".... So I recommend this app to people who love to spend hours of pointless time making cool music mixes that are eventually lost forever
